MICHAEL S. POLLOK has been practicing criminal defense law in New York’s local, state and federal courts since 1994. Upon graduating law school, Michael was an associate with the law firm of Barrett Gravante Carpinello & Stern, LLP which later merged with Boies Schiller Flexner, LLP.
Michael then practiced state and federal criminal law in Manhattan with the law firm of Hoffman & Pollok, LLP and acted of counsel to several law firms including Kantor, Davidoff, Mandelker, Twomey, Gallanty & Kokhba, P.C.,Allegaert Berger & Vogel, LLP and Marvin and Marvin, PLLC.
Over the years, Michael has acquired highly specialized knowledge in the areas of state and federal white collar fraud, healthcare and Medicaid/Medicare fraud, homicide and vehicular manslaughter, assault and vehicular assault, sex offenses, drug cases, driving while intoxicated (DWI), driving while under the influence (DUI), driving while ability impaired by alcohol or drugs (DWAI) and he has taught continuing legal education classes to other lawyers on these subjects.
Michael earned his J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law, his M.A. from Bard College, and his B.A. from George Washington University. He is admitted to practice law in the State of New York, U.S. Supreme Court, U.S. Courts of Appeal for the 1st and 2nd Circuits, U.S. District Courts for the Eastern, Southern and Northern Districts of New York and the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut.
JOHN B. CLARKE (of counsel) is a former Senior Assistant Public Defender who brings with him more than 25 years experience representing people in the criminal courts of Dutchess County. Through handling thousands of cases ranging from minor violations and misdemeanors to the most serious felonies, John has gained a reputation as a caring and determined advocate and counselor. He has cultivated strong, positive and enduring relationships among the many players within the criminal justice community.
John served as an enlisted soldier with the U.S. Army in Europe before returning home and attending the State University of New York College at New Paltz, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. He earned his law degree from the City University of New York Law School at Queens College in 1990. He has attended the National Criminal Defense College’s trial advocacy program in Macon, GA.
John is an avid runner, hiker and outdoorsman who, together with his wife, has made Columbia County his home for the past sixteen years.
