About Marvin and Marvin’s Lead Criminal Defense Counsel Michael Pollok

Michael began his training in the law by working for two New York State Supreme Court justices and maintained a 100% success rate while writing briefs for the Appeals Bureaus at the New York County District Attorney’s Office and The Kings County District Attorney’s Office.
Michael was then employed as an associate at Barrett, Gravante, Carpinello & Stern, LLP (now merged with Boies, Schiller and Flexner, LLP) in Manhattan, where his practice involved white collar criminal defense litigation and appeals, SEC, NASD, Medicaid and Medicare fraud investigations, complex civil litigation, including investigations and litigation involving failed savings and loan institutions on behalf of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and Resolution Trust Corporation.
Michael has also served on the Criminal Justice Act panel for the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, the Assigned Counsel Plan for the Appellate Division, First Department and on the pro-bono panel for the New York State Court of Appeals. In 2005, Michael was recognized by the New York City Council for his pro bono representation of indigent criminal defendants.
After leaving Barrett, Gravante, Carpinello & Stern, LLP, Michael established a solo criminal defense practice in Manhattan specializing in state and federal criminal trials, appeals and post-conviction motions. He has been counsel to Hoffman & Pollok, LLP and Allegaert, Berger and Vogel, LLP. He is currently of counsel to Marvin and Marvin, PLLC where he practices exclusively in the area of criminal defense in the Hudson Valley and New York City.
